Pets not covered
We don’t cover wolves, any wolf hybrid or any animal registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and the Dangerous Dogs (Northern Ireland) order 1991 or any subsequent amendments, and any of the following breeds or dogs crossed with these breeds:
American Bull Dog, Boerboel, Cane Corso, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasilerio, Husky Wolf Hybrid, Japanese Tosa, Pit Bull Terrier, Pit Bull Crosses, American Staffordshire Terrier, Irish Staffordshire Terrier, Irish Blue Staffordshire Terrier. These are breeds we specifically do not cover because they are considered dangerous.
Travelling with your pet
An excess is applicable to all vet fee claims. Your vet fee excess can change if your circumstances change. Also when your pet reaches a certain age it will change from a defined amount to a sum that will be the greater of the defined amount or a percentage contribution.
Once your pet suffers from a medical condition it can become very difficult to get another insurer to offer cover for that condition.
